This whole album reminds me of an era back in the late 80's early 90's when I was around the free festival scene. 'Dance' music was just starting to integrate nicely with the usual array of live bands like Ozrics, RDF and Back to the Planet (to name but a few). Really enjoyed the experience. Blessings.
Favorite track: Ironclad.
A classic band formed by veterans of the uk festival cicuit. Honky Dub were a live electronic space dub outfit based in and around the Norwich area of the UK. During their short life span they built up a reputation at UK festivals playing alongside bands such as Ozric Tentacles, Eat Static, Dreadzone and Hawkwind. Lovely Dubbly was the bands debut album and was initially recorded and sold on the road between 07 and 08 as they went from festival to festival. The original cd's have become rare and sought after by the psy dub / festival community after becoming recognized as a classic piece of festi space dub electronica.
In a conversation the album came up so we tried to listen to it online and realized it only existed in bits n pieces. To commemorate the 5th anniversary of the album we decided to remaster it, give it a new cover and put it up on our shop for download.
