Formed in 2006 Honky Dub were a electronic space dub outfit based in and around the Norwich area of the UK. During there short life span they built up a reputation on the Uk festival circuit playing alongside bands such as Ozrics, Eat Static, Dreadzone and Hawkwind. The Honkys made 2 albums Lovely Dubbly and Chaise Lounge. There style is hard to pin down, their debut album lovely dubbly takes on an electronic dub sound where as Chaise longue takes you on a journey through Drum and bass infused electronica with a space rock edge thanks to guest vocalist Danny Faulkner . Ali joined the band in 2008 and added another dimension to this digi-dub project with the traditional Indian sound of the Sarangi. The Band split in 2010 to pursue new projects, Phil joined the band spacehopper and Matty formed a new band called Magnetizer alongside working on his solo projects. Honky Dubs debut album has gained momentum and is now recognized as a classic piece of experimental psy dub. Abdulla Hamza (aka Celt |slam) is currently in the process of remastering lovely dubbly which will be re released later this year in Download format with new artwork and linear notes.
